Gonfunko And The Parabolas
Are you ready to rock? Well then you've come to the wrong place! This site happens to be that of Gonfunko And The Parabolas, not The Rolling Stones. However, if you're ready to spoof, you've come to the right place. While you're here for a visit, take a look around, download a few 'tunes, and maybe send us an email. By the way, we know we can't sing, so don't bother emailing about that. No one's forcing you to listen to anything. You can always just read the lyrics in peaceful silence.
A bit more about us...
Gonfunko And The Parabolas is a parody band founded in 2003. Originally known simply as Gonfunko, they released their first horrendous album to much critical acclaim amongst the 20 or so people who copies were handed out to. If you have one of those, keep it; Should the RIAA open its own P2P network (feel free to substitute the previous line with any equally not-gonna-happen event) and Gonfunko becomes famous, you'll probably be able to sell it on eBay for $50 or so. As of the present, Gonfunko has released 8 albums, and a 9th is in progress. More than 100 parodies have emerged from the coffers of Gonfunko, and more always are, so be sure to check back often!
Looking for more?
Gonfunko regularly posts new parodies to AmIRight.com. You can find thousands of parodies from other amateur (and some not-so-amateur) parodists there as well - check it out if you have some spare time, or just feel like smiting your work and/or school.
Album Update
Gonfunko has finally settled on a title for the 9th album. Paying tribute to FEMA, i.e. FUBARing Emergencies MAgnificently, the album depicts a Photochopped image of the Gulf Coast after Hurricane (insert random name of hurricane here). We haven't finalized the design yet; hence, the image depicted here claims Mike Brown to be the artist. The album is a cover parody of Pink Floyd's "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" entitled "A Momentary Lapse of FEMA". Although it's not zooming out of the studio, work is underway. Look for completion around mid to late 2006.
